Dorms??

First of all...they suck. Just look at this picture. Cement block walls and tile floors (Prison?) UWM and other colleges have carpeted floors. At MSOE 20+ students share 2 showers, 2 sinks, and 2 toilets. UWM has a suite style living, where the average number of students per bathroom is only about 6. MSOE's furniture is from the 70's and falling apart. The authors of this site feel the picture speaks a thousand words.

Labs??

On the tours of this "fine institution" they show you the Johnson Controls Laboratory, with the wind tunnel and Rapid Prototyping Center. They will mis-lead you into believing you get to use these facilities your Freshman year, but our sources tell us that Freshman only see the inside of these labs when walking by. They also show you the Harley-Davidson computer lab, which is very nice. Too bad you cannot use it at all until your Senior year.

Parking/Activities

Parking? First of all...it sucks. Just visit and look at the parking lot next to the dorms and that should give you an Idea of how fine of an engineering school this is. Don't get us wrong, they turn out some fine engineers, but maybe they should hire some of them for their own facilities. Many other schools have Student Unions with Bowling Alleys, Fast Food, Lounges/Bars, banks, etc... MSOE has ONE cafeteria, and two other smaller cafe's. All three are never open at the same time, so you never really have a choice. They all serve the same thing anyway. Kudos to Sudent Life, who does a great job with what they have to work with, but the school just needs to provide better facilities.
